Our Parish is a registered trust under the public trust act. It is registered as the "Mar Thoma Centre Goregaon" and it enables us to carry out the mission work effectively.

Socio Religious Activities

​

We conduct a Balwadi for children and a tailoring class for girls/ladies both in the Prem Nagar slum area. We also arrange to give medical and educational aid to needy people.

We still continue to support financially the Navjeevan Centre at Murbad. This centre is for rehabilitation program of socially neglected children of mothers from the red light areas of Mumbai. This centre was initially originated by the efforts of our Parish.

We have adopted a mission field at Nandgaon and appointed a missionary there. We hold regular medical camps at Washala under the doctors and a team of qualified nurses from our Parish

The recognized organizations like the Edavaka mission, Sevika Sangham, Yuvajan Sakhyam, Senior Youth, Senior citizen’s fellowship, Sunday school and Choir are functioning properly to carry out the mission of the church in a commendable way.

Prayer Group

 

For the purpose of a close knit spiritual fellowship and to facilitate easy accessibility, seven area wise prayers groups are formed. Regular prayer meetings are conducted in all these prayer groups once in a month.

Worship Services

In the beginning we used to have our services at Kiran Industrial Estate. One of our members Mr. P.S. John was kind enough to let us use his premises for the services and all other functions related to church activities for which we are very thankful to him and his family. Even with the added facility the said premises at Kiran was not sufficient to accommodate all our members.

 

Finally the Lord heard our prayers and provided us with a plot of Land. This land is situated at plot no 181, Bangur Nagar, Goregaon (W).  A temporary shed was erected in April 2004 to conduct  worship services. From 4th April 2004  we are having regular services in this shed. In the beginning we did not have electricity connection at this plot and we are very grateful to the Ayyappa temple authorities for letting us use their electric supply whenever we are in need of it. Later on we got the necessary electricity and water connection. The required furniture for conducting worship services were arranged by the enthusiastic members.
